Albatrosses are endangered due to the high rate of by-catch (accidental catch by commercial fishermen) particularly with longline fishing gear in which by-catch rates can be as high as 1 bird per 10 hooks. This combined with their long life and slow maturity leads to 19 out of the 21 species being listed as endangered
Dibblers are small, carnivorous, native marsupials of Australia. The main reasons why dibblers became endangered have been predation by introduced species such as feral cats, wild dogs and foxes. Competition with introduced species of mice has resulted in lower populations, as has changed fire regimes and habitat degradation.
The possessive form of "mice" is "mice's."
