proteins are formed from peptides which are formed from amino acids, trhough amide bond NH-CO. If there is no notrogen there is no peptide bond so no protein

No. Nitrates are simple ionic compounds, salts of nitric acid. Proteins are complex organic molecules. They do contain nitrogen atoms, but as part of amine groups.
