Most people think that certain types of breeds are naturally "mean" or "aggressive". Pit bulls are one of them. However, whether a dog shows aggressive behaviour is not dependant on the breed, but on how we handle the dog.

A dog that shows aggression shows such in certain natural situations, like dominating their space and protecting it from other animals (and people). Escalating aggression happens when a human (or animal) shows weakness, often in form of tensing, backing away, or generaly being scared. Remember, a dog can allways tell how you feel on the inside. If a dog shows aggression, staying calm will show them that you're not scared, and they will probably back off.

That is like saying, are children friendly? It depends on the parents, the attitude, the social status, any medical problems or anything that affects the way the dog feels. Pitbulls can be bloodthirsty and vicious or sweet and adorable. It can vary so many ways. It depends on the dog.

Very. I own a pitbull right now. They are quite stubborn, but it's only because of how smart they really are. My dog can open doors with handles, the sliding glass door, and a few other very intelligent things most dogs can't. I even taught him to check if anyone is at my house by saying "Who's Here". When I say that he runs to my front door and looks at my driveway. In addition, he somehow knows exactly what time of day I come home. I see him looking out of the window when my wife is 10 minutes away from home.
