2.) Shetland sheepdogs have a strong tendency to nip at ankles of small children. They are a loving breed and get along with anyone hence they are known to make excellent family pets, but when your kid plays with the sheltie, make sure an adult is there to supervise.

The Shetland Sheepdog is the same as most other dogs, they will only nip if they have not been trained very well. If trained well they will get on well with kids although it is probably best to supervise if the child is very young just to be on the safe side.
