Raccoons are extremely friendly. We have been having raccoons come up to our back yard for 20+ years. They eat right out of the cat food tray, alongside the cats no problem. They have even become so use to us they will eat right out of our hands, even bringing their young up to the porch to feed.
What they like to do, especially if we feed them cookies, is take it, and dip it in the water bowl. Its so cute to watch them wash their hands too.
They are very intelligent animals. If you don't pose a threat to them, they will not bother you, and will probably just be curious . and check you out.
Side note...if you want some entertainment. Put out a bowl of water, and toss in some ice cubes, and watch the fun begin.
Note: Raccoons are not always friendly. Like other animals, if they feel threatened they can attack, and they can be dangerous to approach. They can also catch rabies, just like dogs can, so be careful around them, especially if they are acting erratically or aggressively.
