Every place except for Hawaii and Maine Hawaii and Maine are states not countries. Several countries and islands have no snakes at all, including Iceland, Greenland, Newfoundland, Ireland, New Zealand and the Falkland Islands. Most of the islands of the Pacific Ocean, and many Caribbean islands, have no poisonous land snakes, although those in equatorial waters are likely to have poisonous sea snakes just offshore. There are only 3 states that don't have poisonous snakes its only possible if someone went to another state with luggage and left it open and the snake got in it. The states are Alaska, Hawaii , Rode island.

ARE there Timber rattlers in Maine? No. Not any more. I have hunted for them from Virgina to Maine (my new home state) for the chance to count them and take pictures, not snakes. Sorry to say I am able to find 30-40 in a morning in CT. of all places, but up here in Maine they seem to have been wiped out.
