Absolutely. Get a LARGE glass jar. Put a few centemetres of moist (not wet) sand in the bottom. Place a small rough surfaced (the less smooth the better, as they like to hide in the cracks) rock, some twigs, a piece or two of bark or wood (not cedar) on top of the sand. Add a few pill bugs. Note, they will breed readily, so choose only males if you want a limited number of pets. For food, give them small quantities of moss, potatoe and carrot peelings (raw or cooked), corn (raw or cooked), bits of fruit, bits of squash, the occasional piece of cat or dog food, a little flake food made for feeding tropical fish, romaine lettuce, moss, etc. Additionally, they REALLY enjoy eating dead leaves, especially slightly decomposing leaves and rotting bits of wood. Also, you must occassionally add a little calcium (purchase from a pet store a power made for insect eating lizards), as they need this for their shells. Keep the container moist (not wet) by lightly spraying with water (chlorine free) as needed.
Pill bugs do not have ears in the traditional sense. They lack ears with eardrums but they can sense vibrations through their antennae and body hairs, allowing them to detect sound waves to some extent.
