Estrus is the time in a female cats reproductive cycle which the female cat is receptive to the male cat. According to the question posted the cat had been spayed.

If the cat has really been spayed it cannot come into estrus. If it has not actually been spayed and you just think it has, then it could come into estrus, but this is not dangerous (except she may get pregnant). Either way she will not die, or at least not of that!

What is a spayed heifer?

A spayed heifer is a young female bovine past weaned age that has had her ovaries surgically removed so that she is unable to be fertile or reproductively receptive to a bull (which is called heat or estrus.) The purpose of this is to manage heifers that are only to be used for beef production, not as replacement females, but in such a way that they do not need to be regularly injected with hormones to prevent them from going into heat. This is especially useful when they are being raised on pasture for a backgrounding operation when it is not cost effective, both in labour and input costs as well as stress for the heifers and the people, to be implanting or injecting hormones all the time. In the feedlot, heifers are fed a hormone called MGA that prevents them from going into regular estrus. If they are stopped fed this hormone, they go into estrus almost immediately. Spaying them prevents this from happening.

Why do cows mount other cows?

It's not really known exactly why cows or heifers will mount other cows or heifers, though possibly as a show of dominance. It certainly is a good way to tell whether a particular cow or heifer is in estrus, but as to why they do it, it's most likely due to other cattle sensing the increase in pheromones being given off and estrogen activity that is going through the female's system when she is in estrus. The mounting behaviour is probably done out of sexual frustration or excitement, especially if there's not a bull around to settle that female that is in estrus. However, females will even mount each other as a way to attract a bull. Even the cow or heifer that is in estrus will mount a bull!

Is it true that when a cat is neutered it is lazy?

When most animals are 'fixed' they do overcome a laziness Answer: It's rather better to say, the cat becomes "relaxed" when they're neutered/spayed ( Especially male cats being neutered). They don't have to prepare themselves for going into heat season and mark all the territories, which makes it a lot less on their daily schedule as well. And my friend's and my male cats became HUUUGE after being neutered... (compared to the female siblings from the same litter who got spayed).

My dog Mr. wiggles is neutered and this other dog named muffin is not spayed and my dog and always locking to her and she lets it...is it the sigh of mating?

Yes, male neutered dogs can mate with females who are in heat. No puppies will result from this mating. Female dogs who are not going to be bred should be spayed after their first heat in order to eliminate the chances of mammary cancer and pyrometria.

Is there any other way of removing s cat on heat besides spaying a female?

Female cats go into heat at the end of their estrus cycle (the feline equivalent of a human female menstrual cycle). When a female cat is spayed they undergo a hysterectomy essentially where the uterus is removed. So to answer the question, no, the only way to stop a female cat from going into heat is to have her spayed.

What is cessation of estrus?

Cessation of estrus refers to the period when a female animal stops displaying symptoms of being in heat or going through the reproductive cycle. This usually occurs after a certain age or due to hormonal changes in the animal's body. It signifies the end of the animal's reproductive capacity.

Is there anyway to stop a dog going on heat?

Unless you want your dog for breeding, please get her spayed! Spaying the dog stops her from going in heat. Also if you do not, 50% of female dogs that have not had puppies and are not spayed get Pyometra, a disease of the uterus.

What is a female castrated cow called?

An "altered" (or fixed, castrated, neutered or spayed) female bovine is called a spayed heifer or spayed cow. In 99% of all cases such animals are called spayed heifers since most females that are going to be spayed are done so before they reach sexual maturity.

Can a spayed dog still attract males?

Speaking as someone with a neutered male dog who has recently decided that he and my spayed female dog should be...er...more than friends...boys will be boys. If there are male dogs around with easy access (kept in the same fenced in yard or house), they're going to know she's a female and get a hankering to "show their affection" once in a while. If she's not in heat, though, which she won't be if she's spayed, she won't be attracting random strays from the neighborhood.

Your 3yr old golden is going into heat when is it time to breed her she started to drip yesterday.?

ProestrusThe first phase of the estrus cycle begins with proestrus and lasts approximately 9 days. The dog's vaginal area becomes swollen and excretes a bloody discharge during this phase. This is also the phase that is often confused with a menstrual cycle. During this phase the dog's body prepares itself for a possible pregnancy, but the female will not accept the male at this time.EstrusThe second estrus phase also lasts approximately 9 days and this phase is called estrus. During this phase the female ovulates, and she will readily accept a male
