Yes. Dogs have a very highly developed sense of smell - more highly developed than any other of their senses. Dogs can actually smell several layers of chemicals simultaneously, which is why they are so effective in sensing drugs on people, and there is plenty of evidence to suggest they can also sniff out diseases.

Dogs have over 220 million olfactory (smell) receptors in their noses. This is in comparison to humans and their mere 5 million receptors.
