im not sure about shaking hands because rabbits dont like being held onto by their hands or legs. but you can certainly teach bunny some other tricks that are more natural for bunny like 'sit up!' (making bunny sit up on his hind legs). my bunny can do this

How much do dwarf rabbits cost at the pet store?

It entirely depends on the store, try contacting your local pet stores, and evaluate their rabbits before buying one.

How many people own pet rabbits?

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, as of 2007 there were approximately 1.87 million households in the United States with a pet domesticated rabbit with 6.17 million total pet rabbits.

How many vaccinations do dwarf rabbits need?

Dwarf rabbits need the same vaccinations as all pet rabbits. What vaccinations are required for your pet rabbit depends on where you live. In the UK, rabbits require two vaccinations: one against Myxomatosis and the other against VHD (Viral Hemorrhagic Disease). there should be two weeks between the administration of these vaccinations. In many parts of North America, however, no vaccinations are required (or even available) for rabbits at all. Contact a local pet rabbit organization or a "rabbit-savvy" vet to find out what vaccinations are required for rabbits in your area.

Do pet cats eat pet rabbits?

No. Cats don't normally eat pet rabbits. However, cats will often kill baby rabbits (about the size of mice when they are first born).Other Perspectives:My cat is scared of a hamster and i think he is scared of a rabbit too. Many, not all, cats will kill and eat wild or pet rabbits. All adult cats are capable, but some are restrained by their upbringing. Most will take, and eat, babies or juveniles, and experienced cats will take, and eat, fully grown rabbits.

Where can you buy wild rabbits for sale in PA?

You can't buy wild rabbits for sale, only pet rabbits. Wild rabbits, like all wild animals, should be left alone and not domesticated, or caught and sold. It's one thing to hunt wild rabbits, and then sell their body or products (meat, fur), but you shouldn't catch and sell wild rabbits as live animals: there are enough pet rabbits to go around (in fact, in many places, there are too many -- overpopulation).

Hey. To train a pet rabbit, you will firstly need to learn it it's name. Do this by holding food in your hand and calling it's name. Do this often and the rabbit will learn. Rabbits can't really do ''tricks'' as such though. Hope this helps :) x

What happens if an English angora lives in the wild?

Pet rabbits don't do very well in the wild.A pet rabbit might survive for a little while, but it will be scared and unhealthy for most of that time.An angora rabbit will have an especially hard time. Wild animals don't have long fur because it's too hard to maintain. Long fur can hide parasites easier than long hair, it takes longer to dry and makes it harder for the animal to regulate its body temperature, and it can get into knots that pull from the skin and lead to discomfort, and even infection. There are two reasons why pet rabbits don't do very well in the wild:Wrong HabitatPet rabbits are the European Rabbit species. They come from the Mediterranean region and they can't handle extremes in temperature or weather. The wild rabbits where you live come from where you live: they're probably a different species, and their bodies are made for your weather and landscape. If it gets very cold or very hot, the wild rabbits will be fine but a pet rabbit would suffer and possibly die.Wrong InstinctsRabbits learn how to live when they're young. The adult rabbits around them show them how to find food and shelter, how to get along with other rabbits, and how to escape predators. When pet rabbits are young, they don't learn those things: instead, they learn how to survive in your home (or a shelter or the breeder's home or wherever it is they grew up). Pet rabbits do have some wild instincts but not enough, and they aren't well-honed.
