Best Answer

Monera is the first Kingdom according to R.H. Whittaker's five-kingdom classification.

It comprises all prokaryotic (Without a well developed nucleus or nuclear membrane bound organelles) organisms and has NO eukaryotic( With a prominent nucleus and nuclear membrane bound organelles) organisms in it.

The sole members of this kingdom are bacteria. Blue- green algae also known as cyanobacteria come under this kingdom.

They are all unicellular. No organism is multicellular.

They reproduce by asexual means or vegetative means.

Some bacteria adopt a VERY primitive mode of sexual reproduction.

It has 3 main domains: Eubacteria, Cyanobacteria, Archaebacteria.

What is the characteristic of monerans?

Monera vary in ways and is mostly single celled. Known as a prokaryote it has no nucleus or brain. Mostly living in microscopic colonies the monera do many things like invading other organisms. Sometimes the monera are dormant because they are not in the right environment and needs the right one. Dividing into 2 twins every 20 minutes they grow to the millions every day. They are found everywhere including the air. Monera is the most basic kingdom of the other 4.

What characteristic distinguishes moneran from all kingdoms?

They have no nucleus or organelles. They do not move. They obtain their nutrients by absorbing organisms through their cell wall. They are also single celled and microscopic

Which is more primitive protista or monera?

Monera is considered more primitive than Protista. Monera consists of prokaryotic organisms, such as bacteria and archaea, which are among the oldest and simplest forms of life on Earth. Protista, on the other hand, consists of eukaryotic organisms that are more complex and evolved compared to Monera.

The Kingdom Protista comprises?

Both multicellular and unicellular organisms. for the plato users :)

How do you use monera in a sentence?

A type of Monera is bacteria.
