Although hedgehogs may curl up into balls in an act of defense, they have been known to bite.
If you happen to be the recipient of a hedgehog bite, it will be painful and the main bodily regions affected are the hand, arm, foot, ankle or leg. Basically, whatever part of your body is in the way at the time it is alarmed!
Possible reasons:
Never, EVER, punish your hedgehog cause they didn't know it was wrong. If they do bite, it's a failure on your part as an owner - both because you either aren't handling the hedgie correctly or you haven't socialized them well enough (could also be a failure on the part of the breeder). Better handling and socialization will most likely resolve the problem.
Being a vertebrate, all reptiles (including snakes) have spines.
Yes, almost the entire length of the snake's body is backbone. Like all reptiles, snakes are vertebrates. They have super-flexible spines. They have a complete skeleton, including skull, ribs and spine.
A vertebrate is an animal that has a backbone.Under this there are 5 groups. They are: mammals, fishes, birds, amphibians and reptiles. Examples of vertebrates are humans ,elephants ,frogs , toads, crocodiles, salamanders, eagles, doves, piranhas, and sharks.
Yes, all rattlesnakes are reptiles. They belong to the suborder Serpentes within the class Reptilia.
All reptiles are diapsids. Mammals (like you and I) are, in contrast, synapsids. So in that respect all reptiles are alike. However, I would not say they were all alike. Snakes are reptiles but lack limbs. Alligators are also reptiles, as are lizards. Tuatara, gavials, amphisbaenids, and tortoises each represent one of the four main modern orders of reptiles. They share some characteristics--just as you and I do, but I would not say they were all alike.

They all have spines, so yes reptiles are verdebarates.
Being a vertebrate, all reptiles (including snakes) have spines.
All animals have spines, except invertebrates. "Vertebrate" means "spine", and reptiles are a form of vertebrate, so they have a spine. Invertebrates have no spines, examples are jellyfish, bugs, worms, slugs, etc. But yes, reptiles have spines.
All species of lemurs are mammals and, like all mammals, they are vertebrates because they have a spine and spinal cord, and an internal skeleton. They belong to the Phylum Chordata. Mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians are all vertebrates.
