No. Most alligators live in southern Louisiana and Florida. Smaller populations exist from eastern Texas and Oklahoma to North and South Carolina and Georgia. Alligators specifically occupy warm swamps and marshes.

A 7 foot alligator was captured in Sylvan Springs, AL, which was to be released in a nearby lake so they do live in central Alabama, approaching on the north. See related link.

The only part of the United States you can find An American Crocodile in the wild is in Florida. American Alligators are found throughout the SE US.
