I believe so. I used to have this cat named Waffles, (he now lives next door with my aunt), and he's never been much of a people kitty. When ever the family would sit down to watch a movie in the living room you could look up the stairs and sure enough Waffles would be sitting on the top step, listening with his eyes focused on the screen...Even now, I have another cat named Jasmine. She doesn't come in the house often, but usually I'll leave the back door open when I'm practicing on the guitar, and she'll come in and sleep next to me on the bed, which is VERY rare. I don't know for sure, but from what I've seen they enjoy music and television like we do...I don't see why they shouldn't...yew know?
Actally, they do! My cat enjoys watching movies with lots of light and figures moving around the screen. He perches up atop the couch, behind where we sit and watches TV with us. We also find it rather funny when he runs to the screen and tries to hit the moving characters on it. Usually, the older the cat the more they like to sit in your lap and watch TV with you, but it all depends on the cat!
== == Not nearly to the same degree as we can, they can't make out the 2-D image, or know that the basketball bouncing across the screen is an image depicting a basketball. But they can detect light and motion and there for "see" what's happening to some extent.
Many times I catch my both of my dogs watching or listening to TV. Actually last night our lab mix was responded to the whistling on a tv commercial by cocking her head and perking up her ears. Our older dog always growls or whines if we are watching a nature show with the sounds of wild animals
No, cats and dogs did not come from the same prehistoric animal. Cats evolved from a common ancestor that was more closely related to modern-day weasels, while dogs evolved from a different lineage that was more closely related to wolves and other canids.
My cats used to tape favorite soap operas - we can only HOPE that it was just a coincidental error...
Sounds like the composer Craig Armstrong.

Sounds of Summer The Blossom Music Center with Pierre Boulez - 1969 TV was released on: USA: 17 August 1969
Cats may paw at the TV because they are attracted to the movement and sounds on the screen, which can mimic prey. This behavior is a natural instinct for cats to try to catch or interact with moving objects.
Like Cats and Dogs - 2004 TV was released on: USA: September 2004
Cats may sit in front of the TV because they are attracted to the movement and sounds coming from the screen, which can stimulate their natural hunting instincts. Additionally, the warmth emitted by the TV may also be appealing to them.
