Cats have dreams, so I would assume they have nightmares too, yes. Cats don't usually sleep as deeply as humans do, so you don't often see them dreaming. But if you sit in a room with a sleeping cat, and you are very, very quiet, eventually you might see the cat having dreams.

The cat will often move its paws/legs as if it is running, even though it is lying down and fast asleep. Its head might start jerking around, as if it's watching something, or it might start batting the air with its paws, as if it is trying to catch something in the air. But the cat's eyes will be closed and it will clearly be fast asleep.
