My cat is about 9 years old and I put her out ealy this morning and she has not come to eat, etc. I have not seen her. this is not her normal routine. If she were sick do you think she has gone off to die somewhere. She was not acting sick. I don't know alot of information about cats or do they wander off sometimes for a day or so and then come back.

∙ 14y agoThat depends on the cat. I know a cat that had run off to die in peace, but not all cats do that.
Some cats hide in dark places to die so its like your cat says its time to move on and say goodbye to the world.

∙ 12y agoMy cat was 15 years old, healthy, never any problems, she was inside and outside. I could see she was slowing down and felt bad as I knew her time was short. Several nights before she left me, she would crawl up on my body and wrap herself around my neck during the night. I actually felt like she was telling me good bye. One morning I let her out and watched for a few minutes just checking on her and she seemed alert, so I returned to my chores. When I was just too worried, I started calling her and she always came when called. I
continued calling and walking up and down drive ways but I never saw her again. There wasn't anything we could have done but I'll always wish I had done something.
