There are large types of dogs and I've forgotten their names at the moment, but large, dangerous, and wild dogs tend to chew on anything in their range. They will eat a bird, a cheese sandwich and occasionally a human. Nothing to fear though, they might eat your arm but they never eat you entirely. Be careful though.
No, dogs do not tend to EAT people, but they do bite ocassionaly, if provoked to a certain point.
