Do guinea pigs like the dark?

My guinea pig doesn't seem to care.Though,at night we turn off the light.When we turn off the lights(they're always on)she coos,whichsounds like purring(when they coo,they feel happy,usually,they will coo if you're holding them and they feel comfortable,or they like a sound.)Though she coos because of the sound of the lightswitch.

it depends on the guinea pig my guinea pig prefers the dark and likes to be hidden. He likes to hide in towels,blankets and pillows. So it just depends on how your guinea pig reacts if it likes to hide then it likes the dark. But if it loves to be out in the open it likes light

Guinea pigs prefer a consistent light/dark cycle, so they do not particularly like being in complete darkness all the time. They need some natural light to maintain their internal clock and stay healthy. However, they do need a dark, quiet environment for sleeping.

Yes, gunea pigs are known to do alot of their activities in the dark....my GP's do all theur stuff at night :D Hope htins helped. also If its dark make sure ins no colder than 68 degrees. :)

Guinea pigs are definitely not afraid of the dark, they love it! In the wild guinea pigs use dark places to hide in , so naturally they love it!
