If you let your cat outside, then its possible for them to catch one but they rarely eat them but they will bring it to you.
Strangely enough yesterday our neighbor's black cat, jumped on the hood of our car and off on to a squirrel. He then took the squirrel, still squirming and began to eat it.

∙ 11y agoUntil very early this morning i didn't think so as my house cat is very tame friendly and docile, but has never really been in a situation where a bird was placed in front of her, until today. A bird flew into my room and i had to shut her in the corridor to get the bird out as she was jumping, swatting and trying to claw the poor thing! My friends who also have house cats have also experienced similar things. So in answer to your question yes, house cats do eat birds, going into evolutionary terms, i they see a bird their predator instincts kick in and they feel inclined to attack it. hope i helped :)

∙ 9y agoWhile a dog can certainly be aggressive towards a squirrel, dogs do not active seek out squirrels for the main purpose of feeding off of them. Sometimes a dog can be over protective of their yard if a squirrel gets too close to them or dogs will sometimes mistake a squirrel for one of their toys and attack them as such.
