Yes, hummingbird nests, like the bird, are very tiny. The ones I've seen are approximately 3 inches in diameter and very shallow - an inch or so deep. I've only seen two of them, one was in a pine tree that my neighbor cut down. The other I found in a barberry bush when the leaves fell off in the autumn. By the way, I live about 40 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia. We are visited by the ruby throat and Anna's hummingbird.
