A bird that would be classified as a land animal would be game birds such as ptarmigan, grouse, pheasants, turkeys, chickens, guinea fowl and quail, as well as ostriches, emus and kiwi birds. A bird that is classified as a water animal would include ducks, geese, sandpipers, herons, egrets, storks, flamingoes, cormorants, etc. Almost all birds are classified as air animals since they tend to take to the air much more often than the land or water. There are always exceptions though.
