Do raccoons like cats

they shouldn't unless they have something serioulsy wrong with them. usually the worst that they'd do is attack or bite. as long as your pet is properly vaccinated you should be fine.
I don't think so but they sure do attack them and watch out because most of them are rabid.

We live quite centrally in Toronto, Canada and our cat has been attacked 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Yes the cat is territorial and I am sure would take a stand if confronted. We were told by the vet that it was probably another cat but we are not so sure. Our cat has been going out at night for years and not had a problem. We have also had raccoons around our garden for years. However they seem to have become bolder. In the Spring a large raccoon was sitting in our kitchen eating the cat's food. She had let herself in by pushing open a closed but unlocked screen door. She was in no hurry to leave. A family of raccoons sometimes explore our garden at dusk and could not care less that they are passing beside us as we sit in our chairs. We have always thought of them as charming and cute to watch. We keep our garbage securely fastened but they still come snuffling around. We know that our cat faces his predators because all his injuries are on his face, ears and neck. Lumps of fur have been taken and the raw bleeding skin is beneath. On all 3 occasions the marks are in the same areas, one time his head was soaking wet and his shoulder area scratched. We now call in our cat at dusk and keep him in until daybreak. This is difficult for him to accept because for his first 5 years he was a feral cat and only allowed himself to be very gradually adopted by us and to be comfortable in the house. Do you have other evidence of raccoon attacks against cats?

if a raccoon was a carnivore then maybe... however i believe your garbage is a better snack for a raccoon than ur cat

I have heard of cases where more than one raccoon killed cats and terrorized a neighborhood. Not sure about dogs though. Cats most definitely.

There are very few records of raccoons killing adult cats. However, they will take kittens occasionally if the situation presents itself.
