Rats as we know do carry germs. They travel through sewer systems, dirty train stations, garbage, and other non sanitary things. Rats are not born with ' rabies or any other germ'. Rats / mice have to be out often and go into unsanitary places like a sewer system garbage and in general around streets. For extra info rats and mice are not related but are mistaken for one-another.
