We have the company assurance that moist food won't hurt them. But, you need to know, if you only feed your dog soft food it can affect their teeth. Most breeders feed, their puppies & dogs, dry puppy or dog food.
It is the best way they can carry them from one place to another. Not only do dogs carry their young in this way, but a lot of other animals such as cats, mice, rabbits and many more do as well.
I'm assuming you are referring to the mother dog. No it doesn't hurt her, but it does start to hurt her once the puppies get close to weaning age, because their sharp little teeth can be a bit painful when they try to latch on to her teats.
There aren't any that will not hurt your dog.
No, as the mothers mouth is designed perfectly to do this, but it would if we tried to carry them in the same way No, the mother knows just how to carry them. It's an inherent trait, so don't worry. We have bred over 60 puppies and not one has ever been hurt by the mother carrying them with her mouth. No it is pefectly natural...in fact how do you think lions carry theier young in the wild?..thats right bymouth. Not just lions but any other wild cat or dog(dingo) The dog has extra thick skin at the neck. But just be weary of where the mother is carrying the puppies up at and for the time it is carrying.. If it is at the neck then try and persude the dog to put the puppy down. Remember to not punish the mother for carrying the puppy for it is only instict(sp). Also remember that mothers are very very...did i say cery? protective of their young so give the mom some slack. -tawbrey
Yes, a 6-week-old puppy can have cooked eggs as part of their diet. However, make sure the eggs are fully cooked and do not contain any seasonings or additives that may be harmful to the puppy. It is always best to consult with a veterinarian before introducing new foods to your puppy's diet.
Food grade DE will not hurt puppies.
A puppy can be taken away from its mother and litter at 5 weeks of age. Alot of people say its not good for the puppy but it does not hurt them in anyway. You can start feeding puppies soft gog food at 4 weeks old and if they are eating good they can be taken at 5 weeks old.
no, its basically the same thing.
It certainly can hurt her and the puppies, or at least make it very hard for her to deliver her puppies.
Well, all puppies chew, but from my experience with labs they are some of the worst chewers. My advise would be to get a puppy Kong to give them something to use when their teeth hurt, or when they get bored.
yes puppies do bite but it is only because they are teething

Usually by the time a puppy is 3 weeks old, they will start getting their baby teeth in! In my experience, the mothers I bred started weaning the puppies, when they were about 5-6 weeks old, because with the teeth and the puppies nursing, it starts to hurt the mother. Their nails also get long and sharp and that also hurts mom, so it helps mom alot, if you keep them trimmed! You can start introducing puppy gruel to the puppies, when they are 3-4 weeks old, but they will still be nursing from mom also!
If they accidentally eat some apple it shouldn't hurt them too much. Apple seeds are a different story. However, generally it's best to feed a puppy a food that is balanced for his age to help him develop to his full potential.
It is possible for an older dog to hurt a puppy, especially if the older dog is not properly socialized or has aggressive tendencies. It is important to monitor their interactions and intervene if necessary to ensure the safety of the puppy.
I'd say steer clear for a week or so. The mother can be over-protective, she can leave the puppies, or the puppies might even get hurt.
