"Bully Breeds" such as Pit Bulls are generally used for dog fighting, not because they are inherently aggressive (most are very gentle), but because they can be trained easily to be aggressive and can be found in shelters in abundance.

Sadly, other breeds of dogs are also used in dog fighting as "bait" for the fighting dogs that are being trained. These are usually small breed dogs that cannot easily defend themselves.

How do dogfights affect the dog?

People usually, if they have dogfights going on, starve their dogs so they will fight with other dogs... usually they will take like, a steak, in front of 2-23 dogs and they will all fight... some die, and some get hurt very badly! The winner gets the steak, or other food... I think dogfighting is VERY CRUEL and people shouldn't do it... never would i do it myself! Hope this helped!

Is it possible that a dog can out alive in a dogfight?

Well, it takes 2 dogs to have a dog fight. Assuming one dog wins every dog fight, at least half the dogs involved in dogfights come out alive. Probably more, as the losing dogs probably live too.
