Elephants started out as wooly mammoths but after the ice age they all died and there became elephants elephants and wooly mammoths are not related, a good example are humans, over time, we have apparently become more attractive (although this is very debatable, there are still a lot of ugly people), but it is known as a fact that humans have become taller, for proof, if you ever go to a historical building, you can observe that the stair cases are narrow, the fossil record also shows that humans have become taller

The peppered moth in England is a classic example of adaptation through natural selection. Before the industrial revolution, the moth was predominantly light-colored to blend in with lichen-covered tree trunks. However, as pollution darkened the trees, darker-colored moths became more prevalent as they were better camouflaged from predators.
