My 10 yo female ridgeback x kelpie is 35kg. She has no health problems (not even Arthritis). She has a few lumps / fatty deposits, but no cancer. She is a long dog like a ridgeback but her height is slightly taller than a kelpie. She has the ridgeback look and laziness inside with a gentle , but the energy of a kelpie when outside (especially in the water). She doesn't bark, bite, jump or dig and is very well behaved but can be unpredictable at times with other dogs (an age / tolerance thing I think as this is fairly new behaviour). She doesn't like yapping dogs that jump at her.
How long a dog's tail grows really depends on the breed. Many large dogs have tails about a foot long. while small dogs have tails that are usually about 5 inches. Dogs tals grow as they grow, rarly exceeding the length of their back.
No, they are not as large or as wide.
Dogs grow thicker winter coats to keep warmer in winter. The signal for dogs to grow their winter coats is the length of daylight each day; as it declines, the dog's body reacts by growing a thicker coat.
All dogs stop growing when they reach physical maturity, regardless of breed. Some breeds, such as the Great Dane, develop into very large dogs, while others, such as the Chihuahua, develop into very small dogs.
It will reack it's full height at a little over a year, it's full weight at about 1.5 years, and it's adult behavior and mentality at 2-3 years. So, an adult rhodesian ridgeback would be any dog 3 years or over.
The Australian Kelpie is an enthusiastic and tireless working dog. They can grow 43 to 51 cm in height and 25 to 45 pounds in weight.
Yes, some dogs grow very big
From the time they are born, until full adulthood, dogs do grow.
