Well if you wanted to find out if it was a male or female it would be the length of the tail on the turtle but they have to be a little older (Males have longer tails). You can also tell them apart by their stomaches or the shells.answer- the best thing to do is to paint are marker their names to the bottom or top of the shell that's what i did cause i have 5 painten turtle 1 common musk and 1 common snapin are Florida snapping

I'd say the same a the first dude, it's commonly found due to the tail, and shell.

How much does a pet turtle cost?

The cost of a pet turtle can vary depending on the species, where you purchase it, and if it includes setup costs like a tank, heater, and lighting. On average, a pet turtle can cost between $20 to $200. Additionally, ongoing expenses for food, supplies, and veterinary care should be factored in.

Pet turtle lifespan?

The lifespan of a pet turtle can vary depending on the species. On average, many species of pet turtles can live anywhere from 20 to 40 years, with some species even exceeding 50 years in captivity when provided with proper care and a suitable environment. It is important for turtle owners to be prepared for the long-term commitment involved in caring for a pet turtle.

What is a good home for a pet turtle?

It depends on the turtle. Some turtles want a tank with mostly water and just a little land, some turtles want a dry tank with just drinking water. You need to find out what kind it is to find out what kind of environment and food it needs. If you purchased it at a pet store, an employee there should have the information you need or at least be able to get you a book with instructions for care. If it is a turtle you found outside I strongly recommend that you return it to the safest place you can that is still nearby where you found it. If this is not possible, or it is not safe for the turtle where you found it, or perhaps you inherited it from a friend or something like that... the pet store is still your best bet. Take the turtle in so they can more accurately identify it.
