Typically female cats will either hide or look for some place where they feel safe, and may purr out of pain. It is very important not to intervene, because it may interrupt labor, it is possible for cats to give birth to a couple of cubs and hold another(s) for up to a day, until they feel safe again.
I am sure there are more clynical descriptions

What you can do is get her a box with a towel or blanket in it. (The towel or blanket will get bloody so make sure it is not a favorited one.) The cat will not like a crowd. So give her privacy but be sure to stay close. When the kittens are born be sure to tend to them well. Keep them warm and make sure the mother nurses them. My cat has delivered before so I know this for a fact.
