How can you tell a fox squirrel from a grey squirrel?

Red squirrels are an orangey colour while grey ones are grey ---- Grey and gray are exactly the same word - just spelt differently. Americans spell it with an "a" and other english-speaking countries spell it with an "e".

:/ no this is not the right answer... fox squirrels are redder in color and the tail is around the same size of its body. (which is why its called the fox squirrel) while the gray squirrel is gray :/ and the tail is not as large... fox squirrels are better btw :D
