Look up it's average wingspan, baby bird has smaller wing spans. Also the color of it's plumage (youngster's feathers are often dull), Bill-proportion of it's head to the rest of the body (young birds have smaller head than the mature birds because they aren't fully grown), and it's behavior. Just like we do, young birds want their parent's attention. They flop their wings a lot, near adults or big moving things, often it seems like they're hurting themselves.

Cockatiel's are very difficult to age. You can only be accurate about their age if you've had the bird from a baby. The only way a cockatiel can be aged is as a juvenile, adult or senior.
