You can wave your hand in front of the face and see if theres a reaction, or if your rat bumps into things, or even check if its just scrached!...actually that might not work because they can hear or smell you. a good way to find out is to flash a light in front of it or use a light. if it reacts by blinking or following the light then it most likely isn't blind but if it doesnt react at all then it most likely is
