to train your hamster not to be scared, you have to try to take the cage to a quiet place and talk to her, to let her get used to your voice, then try giving her food from your hand. If she is a little tamer put her on your lap and let her explore and smell you. if this doen't work then talk to a pet expert and let them see whats wrong, well happy to help.

If your hamster runs away from you does that mean it's scared of you?

If your hamster runs away from you, it might mean that he or she is afraid of you, but it might also mean that the hamster is simply not trained. You can train a hamster to come to you by rewarding the hamster with food each time it climbs onto your hand.

What do you do if you have a squirmy hamster?

the best way to introduce your hamster to handling is to let them come to your hand. if you were a hamster you wouldn't want to be grabbed! show that you are not a threat by putting your hand in the cage near the hamster without touching it and slowly moving it away from the hamster. this way your hamster is more likely to come to your hand. avoid quick movements as this will scare your hamster. when your hamster has had enough leave it or it wont come out when you are there. though it may take time, your hamster will gradualy get used to your hand and wont mind being held! i am in the process of taming my fourth hamster at the moment! hope i helped!

How do you get your sons hamster out from under the fireplace insert?

First of all, don't shine a flashlight into the space. The hamster will just get more scared. Take a pumpkin or sunflower seed and hold it out to the hamster as far as you can reach. The hamster should come toward it and crawl out on his own.

What does it mean when a hamster shakes?

It means the hamster is very scared or surprised. If this happens all you have to do is give your hamster some personal space and come back later. To avoid this, never wake your hamster up when it's sleeping, never bother it when it's grooming itself, never take it by surprise, and make sure that it's not in direct sunlight or near an open window. Make sure to give it lot's of love!

How do you potty train your hamster?

It depends on the hamster you have's personality. Most you can probably train, others can learn by themselves (i.e. my hamster gets out a lot and from that he learned how to climb on stuff to get back in after doing it several times) Hamsters will do some pretty interesting things without your help
