horses have been in North American for millions of years, but then for some unknown reason, they were extinct on that continent. The spanish brought them back. The spanish were known to be exquisite record keepers, but for some reason, they never recorded how many horses they brought over, how many escaped, and how many had offspring. It is a mystery as to why.
Indians didn’t have a corral to keep their horses in. Instead, the horses grazed free on the range near the Indian camps.
Because sound travels better through a solid, than it does the air, so they would have been able to hear the horses hooves better by listening through the ground.
Since the Seminole Indians came from Cree, Creek and Cherokee, they were all very familiar with horses brought by the Spanish invaders. Of course some of them were able to train and ride horses. In the wetlands and swamps horses were of limited use and it depended upon where the Seminoles lived whether they used horses or not.
If you mean when did people first start using horses then that would be stone age times. Actully Indians thought they were big dogs when they saw the American Mustang. They didnt use horses in the stone age. The Indians had always used dogs to pull there equipment around when they saw the hosres thinking they were big dogs they cought them traind them became there friends and used them to pull more equipment. The Spanish have always used horses though, but not in the stone age.

Before horses were introduced onto the North American continent, the Sioux Indians, the people of the Oceti Sakowin, walked every where. They used dogs to haul their belongings on a travois. Once horses were introduced, they walked, rode horses, and used the horses to haul their belongings on a travois.
It was not introduced, for the Plains Indians stole the horses from the spanish.
