Feral refers to an animal that was once tamed or domesticated and was released back into the wild, but the animal itself never returns to it's fully wild state due to human intervention. A good example of a Feral horse is the Mustang, which is wrongly called a wild horse. It is in fact Feral, as their ancestors were horses that escaped from humans or were released back into the wild by humans.
