It depends on what's happening when they are squeaking. If they hear you open the refrigerator door to get them some food, it means that they're happy that they're about to be fed... If you're picking them up the wrong way, then it means that they're scared... You have to listen to the different types of noises that they make in the different situations they're in to figure out.
