The queen doesn't eat royal jelly, she has nectar, same as the other bees.

Royal jelly is fed to all young larvae. After a couple of days worker larvae are fed a mixture of pollen and honey, but queen larvae are fed royal jelly right up to the time they pupate.

What do bees eat when honey is taken?

Nectar, nectar products, pollen and pollen products are the foods that bees eat when honey is taken. Honey is the combination of bee enzymes and floral nectars. The insects in question mix nectar, pollen and water into bee bread while royal jelly for queen bees results from pollen interacting with chemicals from worker bee glands.

What do bee larvae eat?

For the first three days after hatching from the egg all larvae are fed on a substance produced in the nurse bees' hyperpharyngeal glands, called bee milk or royal jelly. After three days worker and drone larvae are fed on a mixture of royal jelly, nectar or diluted honey, and pollen, but queen larvae continue to be fed pure royal jelly right up to the time their cell is capped.

What is a queen bee's diet?

Bees will drink nectar and eat pollen. Nectar brought back to the hive is converted into honey which is stored for food for when nectar is unavailable. Pollen returned to the hive is also stored for later consumption.

What does honeybees eat?

After hatching from the egg, a bee larva is fed a secretion from a worker bee's hyperpharyngeal gland, called royal jelly. Queen larvae are fed on this for the whole of their larval live, but other larvae are fed this for three days after which they are fed a mixture of pollen with a little honey. This is sometimes called 'bee bread'. Adult bees will eat a little pollen, but mainly live on nectar and honey.

What food do ant larva eat?

Do honey bees have a diet?

Yes, honeybees have a diet. The insects in question (Apis spp) prioritize certain food sources -- through the combination of digestive juices, nectar, or pollen -- at certain stages in their life cycles and natural histories. For example, larvae will devour brood food (or royal jelly if they will become queen bees), mature bees will eat beebread or honey, and queen bees will feed upon royal jelly.

What are the feeding habits of birds?

Nectar and pollen are what honey bees (Apis mellifera) eat when they are outdoors. The nectar mixes with enzymes within bee stomachs to produce honey. It also may be mixed with pollen to produce protein-rich beebread.Honey and stored pollen are what the queen and the workers eat while they overwinter in their hives.Selected larvae that are to be future queens are fed on royal jelly and the queens.Honey bees eat nectar and pollen.

If Jellyfish eat Jelly does it explode?

You are an idiot kid, there is no jelly in the ocean. Therefore jellyfish would'nt be able to eat jelly. Even if there was jelly in the ocean, it would have to be more liquid to digest jelly. So jellyfish wouldn't be able to eat jelly therefore they would not explode.

Do queen wasps sting?

The Queen bee, (which by the way, is head of the hive, not the king), is fed "royal jelly", which is a creamy substance made in glands on the worker bee's heads. The queen bee is fed nectar by the attendant bees. Royal jelly is fed to all larvae for the first three days after hatching from the egg. Worker and drone larvae are then weaned on to a mixture of royal jelly, pollen and honey. Queen larvae are fed exclusively on royal jelly right up to the point the cells are capped and they pupate.
