The best way to avoid a tiger is to keep calm, and still-like what you do with some other big animals, lions, giant sumo monkeys, e.t.c. Anyway, do NOT think of hightailing it since that you are the fastest in your family, because that tiger will catch you faster than you have taken three steps out of there. Tigers rarely eat humans (though more often than just about any other animal), though they may also attack to defend their cubs or kill. Hide beyond the tiger's reach if possible. Slowly-I'm talking snail slow here-back out. If you are trapped, which is highly unlikely, do NOT move. Breathe very slowly. No loud sighs, no sobs, no shouts for help. Because, most likely, that tiger is the only one who will respond-and not in a good way. Trapped-and no way of possible help-well, that's a different question. But the best thing to survive longer, is to not anger the tiger. Angering it is like angering a smiling baby-smiling turns to growling.

Tigers are stealthy and if you are attacked, it's almost certainly too late. If you spot the tiger, keep facing him and walk away slowly. Because tigers attack from the back, wearing a mask on the back of one's head can prevent stealth attacks, though this method no longer always works.
