How do you block on killer instinct?

if you want to block, you press the button that moves you away from your opponent(which is usually left or right). :) your character will automatically block your attacker's punches or kicks.

In Killer Instinct, blocking is done by holding back on the directional pad or joystick to defend against high and mid attacks, and crouching back to defend against low attacks. Blocking reduces the amount of damage taken from an opponent's attacks but does not completely negate it. Timing and anticipating your opponent's moves are key to successful blocking strategies in the game.
