It is easiest if you start them off young. Let the dog smell the diaper and "pet" him with it so he knows it is safe. Then gently and slowly put it on while praising him. Supervise him and every time he reaches back to try to take it off, give him a slight poke on the neck and say "NO!" so that his attention is back on you. If he is afraid to walk, coax him with food and lots of praise. Keep doing this every day and within a week or 2 he will be used to it.

Don't ever let him take it off by himself and get away with it. If he takes it off, put it back on. It shouldn't go off until you take it off.
