Rabbits show they're happy in a few different ways. Not all rabbits will show they're happy in the exact same ways: like with humans, different rabbits communicate in different ways! See the link below for more details about rabbit communication and body language. Some examples of how rabbits show they're happy include:

  • Bunny Flop: When the rabbit flops onto its side, that's a sign she's feeling secure and content.
  • Binky: When the rabbit does a wild jump-dance, twisting his body in mid-air, this is a sign of joy and excitement.
  • Tooth-purring: When a rabbit is feeling comfortable, satisfied, and pleased, she will gently grind her teeth in a rhythmic fashion. This is commonly observed when the rabbit is being cuddled by a human companion, or groomed by a rabbit companion. (Tooth-purring is different from the harsh tooth grinding that in rabbits is a sign of pain.)
  • Bunny 500: When a rabbit does a wild race around the room, that's a sign he feels invigorated and excited.
