Squirrels are covered in fur, which helps to keep them warm and protect their skin. Their fur can vary in color and thickness depending on the species and habitat of the squirrel. Additionally, squirrels may have a bushy tail that they use for balance and communication.
The mating season for flying squirrels is between February and March. When the baby squirrels are born, the mother squirrels live with them in nest sites. They nurture and protect them until they leave the nest.
Well, squirrels have the same fur characteristic as cats where the fur is damp and they do not have fluffy fur anymore when they get wet. Squirrels, like cats, also do not like to get wet.
Some ways are:Avoid using traps.Don't use chemicals on plants that squirrels might eat.Try not to interact with the too much as that can create stress on them which can eventually kill them. (Another reason not to have contact with them is because they carry disease.)
No, marigolds don't help keep squirrels from eating your tomatoes. The first tomatoes to be eaten by the squirrels were in patio pots and surrounded by marigolds almost half as tall as the tomatoes. One tomato is now completely bare of tomatoes, it had 5 or 6 before the squirrels found it. The other still has 5 but by tomorrow probably will have only one or two left - if any.

In my area we have only red squirrels they don't eat my tomatoes. I don't know about grey squirrels though. Tomato plants are from the nightshade family and are poisonous[apart from the fruit of course]. We have lots of deer around us but they never touch the tomato plants. I'd give them a go if I were you.
They run away, just as country squirrels do.

Plant marigolds around the tomatoes. Deer, rabbit, and squirrels hate the smell. Also try sprinkling a generous amount of cayanne pepper around the beds, it won't hurt them - just give them an unplesant temporary burn!
Most animals, including squirrels and deer do not like marigolds. I put them around my vegetable garden to protect it.
