Well, firstly you need a cockerel if you see him mate with the hen separate that hen and put it in a separate area any eggs that that that chicken layers in 1 week (5-8 days) after having mated should be fertile. when an egg is fertile it is not guaranteed to hatch from experience with 6 fertile eggs you usually get 4-6 hatch but there is no certain way of telling if chick is present in a egg before it hatches. all you can do is put the eggs under the hen (more chance of hatching) or put them in a incubater for 3 weeks and hope for the best
p.s: if you want to hatch, buy eggs of ebay or enternet as they have a higher chance of being fertile.
Happy hatching ;)
Many people raise chickens for their eggs. When the chicken lays the eggs and egg that is not fertilized is referred to as a dud egg. These are the eggs we get in the market. If the egg is fertilized, you will get a chick.
A fertilized chicken egg is an egg that has the ability to be hatched. Normal store eggs can't be but eggs from a farmer usually can be. The fertilized part just means the hen was around a rooster and he inseminated her. So now there is a sperm in the chicken egg. Hence the fertilized part.
No, a chicken egg is not sperm. An egg is a female reproductive cell that is fertilized by a male sperm cell to form an embryo. In the case of a chicken egg, the yolk and the white are parts of the egg that provide nutrients and protection for the embryo to develop.
Not all chicken eggs are fertilized. Any egg that a chicken lays will be unfertilized unless there is a rooster around to fertilize the egg while it is inside the chicken.Chicken eggs are fertilized when a rooster is in with the hens. The rooster will breed with the hens to continute the chicken species. This is why eggs are fertilized. If you do not want your eggs fertilized, all you need to do is pull out the rooster, or roosters if there are more than one. This will cause the chickens to lya unfertilized eggs. When an egg is fertile it means it was in the beginning stage of hosting a baby. Basically, it is an egg from a hen that had previously had sex with a rooster. You probably don't want to think about that before eating them though. They are the most nutritious form of egg to eat.
You do not need a cock to get an egg from a chicken. If you want to have fertilized eggs that will hatch into chicks there has to be a cock.

The chicken comes from the embryo inside the egg, specifically the fertilized yolk.
The chicken comes from the fertilized egg's embryo, which is located within the egg white and yolk.
It means the egg was fertilized :\
it has to be fertilized, and you can stick it in an incubator.
