Go to an action mart where there is sheep for sle, of you are wanting to have a high quality sheep then buy the price winning ones, if not then buy cheapper sheep, these will be easier to make money with and handle. When you have done this you will need to buy a tup (ram) this is to get the sheep in lamb to reperduce sheep. this will lead to more money in the long run but this will cost you money in the short team. Its worth it though so old sheep are not wirth every must. If you live on low land you should buy sheep like mules, texals or the best breed beltex or lesters. if you live on high land then buy sheep like swaledales so these do better on higher land and will deal woth the harsh weather condisions.

Make sure you have land, capital (buildings, equipment, machinery), and feed in place before you start buying your cows, and a business and operational plan of what you're going to do, how you're going to do it, who is your buyer for your milk, and any other financial and economic red tape that needs to the squared away. Then you can buy your cows. The cows you buy must be of dairy quality, not beef, otherwise you're not going to get much milk. Depending on the size of your farm and facilities, you can buy anywhere from just two cows to 50 to get you started. Then you can start milking!

Just note that if you really want to get into dairy farming, make sure you either have a lot of money, a spouse that can get into dairy farming (and wants to), or older, retiring relatives that are already dairy farming that you can work with to take over the farm through succession planning.
