We had some ducks that came when we called 'dill, dill, dill, dill, dill'.
When you feed the ducks call them 'duck duck duck duck' or whatever you want and soon they will associate the calling with food and come whenever you call.
It is good to give them some food when you call them, just to keep up that association.
DO NOT throw a duckling into water. Once the duckling is old enough, about a week, start by introducing them to the water by putting them in or near a relatively shallow body of water that is not deeper than the duckling is tall. Eventually the duck will learn to paddle and swimming will not be a problem even in very deep bodys of water.
You can't train them to do that. You have to get them back in to their house yourself. I get my ducks back in at night by tapping the ground with a fly swatter.
You do not need to teach a duckling to swim, they can swim from birth. A duckling will just jump in and swim!
I simply call 'Ducks Go To Bed!' and they will come from where ever to me! Ducks are so lovable and truly are one of the kindest animals there are!
A mother duck takes care of her ducklings pretty much the way a mom takes care of her children. But unlike human moms, duck moms don't have to teach their ducklings how to eat, or to swim, or to preen, they are born knowing how to do that from birth. She does however, have to keep a very, very good eye on them. Ducklings are tremendously curious and get lost easily in a big pond. I have seen mother ducks search for their lost child and then scold, yes scold, them quite angrily to stay with the brood.
Ducklings
A young duck is a duckling.
You should probablly teach ur kitty to swim when its very small. That way, its accustomed to water on its fur or the movements to keep afloat. Start with very shallow warm water and leave it in their with ur supervision of course.
Well, some of the time. They can learn on their own also by watching their parents go out there. Or the penguin will teach the chick. So yes and no.
You bath them. teach them, how to swim.. keep them in a cage outside. feed them duck food from petsmart
