well, male skinks tend to have more brilliant coloring than females also the head of a male is broader than a females which is the size of its neck. Some people say check it's underside for spots and if it has spots it's female. Don't, that doesn't matter when sexing a Berber Schneider skink.
Male stingrays have claspers near their pelvic fins, which are used for mating. However, without a close examination of these specific features, it can be difficult to tell the sex of a stingray.
I am a SKINK... hope this helps.
Yes only a few the 5 lined skink, western skink ,northern alligator lizard and the short horned lizard.
A blue-tongued skink is a type of lizard native to Australia and surrounding areas. They are named for their distinctive blue tongues, which they use as a warning signal to deter predators. Blue-tongued skinks are popular as pets due to their docile nature and unique appearance.
It depends what type of skink it is. If it's the Southeastern five-lined skink - they have blue tails and are about 5-8 inches long -, then yes; they can cause irreversible nerve damage for the skinks contain toxins. The cat will appear 'drunk', wobbling its head from side to side after eating one. Cats can become paralysed or even die after ingesting a skink. If it's the Eastern Water skink (and if you're in Eastern Australia it most probably is), which is a brownish-green colour with black spots and around 28cm long, then so far as I've read about them, they don't harm cats. Though from personal experience I know that with my skink-loving kitten he was sick for about 3 days from what we suspect to basically be a skink overdose. Though it seems to be pretty normal for cats and dogs to eat/attack them. I hope that helps :)
no they can not
i believe berber skinks can survive on the water content they get from eating insects. but its a good idea if you keep berber skinks as pets to provide them with fresh water.
you can keep skinks in vivariums and terrariums or even well ventilated fish tanks. the size of the cage depends on how big the skink is. if your skink is small like a sandfish, berber skink or an emerald tree skink you will need a 24 inch tank. but if it is a plated lizard or lined skink it will need a 36 inch tank.
To determine the gender of a Berber skink, observe the size and shape of their body. Males are typically larger and more robust, with a broader head and often more vibrant coloration. Females tend to have a more slender body and a narrower head. Additionally, during the breeding season, males may exhibit more pronounced behavioral displays, such as increased activity or territorial behavior.
yes if it is a male and female or a younger male and older male
The same with all skinks you cannot really tell there sex apart. If you have a blue tailed skink and you really want to know what sex is you can take it to the vet and they will x-ray it. You don't really need to know the sex unless your planning on breeding it. Its not worth the hassle for such a small little lizard. Hope this answers your question :))
"Righkem" in Berber means "to tell" or "to recount."
Ady Berber's birth name is Adolf Berber.
A skink lives in a rainforest
It depends on the species. e.g a common garden skink from Australia the females have an orange belly and the males have a light-grey/silver belly
A female isn't coloured whereas a male has a red, yellow, blue or green chest.
the variable skink is a reptile
