http://drdavidson.ucsd.edu/Portals/0/snake/Arietans.htm I am in Zimbabwe in the bush our hospitals are closed. I have limited medical knowledge. The man was bitten on the big toe and leg is swollen and discoloured to the knee. He is in pain bitten 72 hours ago and no doctors in this area that will treat him without money
oh my god! I wish there was something I could do! The bite is potentially lethal but it's not 100% critical. The only way you can make it better is with a counter toxin such as an antivenom will usually result in great healing. There isn't anything that "you" can actually do. I suppose comfort and keep the man hydrated and keep his foot as low as possible. Thank you for your prompt response. I am doing the best I can and will look at the insulin suggestion. There is a possiblility that I can get some from a friend and then phone a doctor on skype and see what I should do. This is a very difficult situation. I will keep in touch with you on this issue.
