This depends on the individual cat, and what breed it is. Some breeds of cat are very large, and in the case of the Main Coon breed, can weigh anywhere between 5-11kg (10-25lb). Domestic Shorthair or Longhairs (otherwise known as a mixed breed or moggy) can vary greatly in size. The average cat weighs 4-5kg, but some cats can weigh less or more than the average.

Please bear in mind that these weights are for healthy cats. Overweight or obese cats will be far above the weight that is deemed healthy for their frame, and can cause health problems later on in their life.

Some cats are fed too much dry cat food will get to be about 15 to 20 pounds. That is not healthy for the cat.
