∙ 14y agoThe relationship is a bit like the relationship between animals and trees/plants. The plants provide cover/hidey holes and places to lay eggs they also provide Oxygen and use up Carbon dioxide. Different fish species react with plants in various ways. Some will clean the plants leaves and others will prune the plants. All fish make wastes including CO2 which the plants will eventually use up as fertiliser(nutrients).
