Good luck trying to get it to live a year
Hmm... I don't really know, as the average betta only lives for about 1 1/2 to 3 years in NORMAL CONDITIONS (e.g. squeezed in a really small container (who likes it?), fed with a variety of foods, clean, slightly acidic water) but in some cases of lab fish (no, they are NOT genetically mutiliated, just in prime conditions such as a large space, plenty of plants, a good filter (no one says that they must not have one,) and plenty of live foods, they can live up to thirty years. Tip: When choosing bettas, look at its head. If its head looks rough, it is most probably ond and about to die anyway, hence it is not worth the money to buy them.
